I’ve been studying business models longer than I’ve been “in business.”

Back in the day it was Fortune magazine subscriptions.
I’d read about different businesses and what made them successful.

Then it turned into books.
Jim Collins, Good to Great, Built to Last, just to name a few.

I’ve read books from famed investor Peter Lynch, and so on and so forth.
Same reason, I wanted to understand what actually drives results.

As a private investor, I read research material on equities to invest.
I like seeing how the story, the numbers, and the business model line up.

Sales sharpened it even more.
It’s identifying the problem and fixing it.

It’s identifying the opportunity, creating a plan, and executing on it to take market share.
Simple to say, not always simple to do.

Today, I’m looking forward to learning a new business model.
Identifying a problem or opportunity and putting into action a plan to achieve an objective.

Utilizing the knowledge and experience gained over the years and putting it into practice to meet the next challenge.

That’s the fun part.
